What you should know and who can use this service
How to resume your business activity
As an entrepreneur registered with CEIDG you may suspend your business activity indefinitely or for a limited period of no less than 30 days.
If you have suspended your business activity for a limited period – which means you have given the date of resumption in your application for business suspension – your business activity will be resumed automatically on the selected date, without the need to file any additional applications.
If you have suspended your business indefinitely or you wish to change the date of resumption given earlier, you need to file an application to CEIDG.
When resumption of business takes effect
The application to resume business activity may be filed before, on or after the planned date of resumption. Remember to observe other time limits (for example as regards contributions or tax advances) specified in legal regulations. If you plan to give an earlier date of resumption but you are not sure whether this is allowed in your case – if, for instance, you have not performed some activities obligatory for active entrepreneurs – contact the tax office or ZUS/KRUS for advice.
Succession manager
If a succession manager has been appointed after the death of an entrepreneur, business activity is resumed on the day following the date on which such manager has been appointed.
Resumption of a civil law partnership
If you wish to resume business activity under a civil law partnership, first you need to notify:
- the statistical office (RG-OP form)
- the tax office (NIP-2 form)
and then also notify CEIDG about such resumption of activity.

What to do step by step
Submit the application to resume business activity
There are 3 ways to submit your application to CEIDG
Online
Click the "Complete the procedure online" button on this page or, after entering the Biznes.gov.pl home page, log in to the "Business account" via Login.gov.pl, using the trusted profile (profil zaufany) or e-dowód. If this is your first login, the system will guide you through the account creation process. Then fill in the application with the online tool. Sign it using your trusted profile or a qualified electronic signature.
If you wish to submit your application online, this may be performed by your attorney-in-fact whose details have been given in your entry in CEIDG. However, the scope of authorisation needs to include resumption of your business activity. If the application is submitted by an attorney-in-fact already indicated in CEIDG, no stamp duty is necessary. Such authorisation is visible in the public register and does not have to be additionally confirmed with a power of attorney in writing.
At an office
You may submit your application in person at any city/town/gmina (district) office. The clerk will confirm the receipt of your application and enter the data from your application in the CEIDG system on the next day at the latest. Remember to take your ID with you as you will need to confirm your identity at the office.
There are 2 ways to prepare the application:
- Ask for the appropriate form at the office. Fill it in and sign it.
- Use the Biznes.gov.pl/ceidg website to download the form. Fill it in, print it out and sign it at the office.
The application may be submitted at the office by an attorney-in-fact appointed under general rules. You do not need to prepare a power of attorney in writing if your attorney-in-fact is already indicated in your entry in CEIDG. Remember, however, that the scope of their power of attorney needs to include resumption of business activity. If the application is submitted by an attorney-in-fact indicated in CEIDG, no stamp duty is charged and there is no need to present the actual document of the power of attorney. If the application is submitted by a different attorney-in-fact, remember that each power of attorney is subject to a stamp duty of PLN 17 (this does not include a power of attorney granted to your closest family members).
By post
The filled in application may be submitted by registered letter. In such case it should bear the applicant’s hand-written signature certified by a notary.

Resumption of business activity and taxes
After your business activity is resumed, you need to complete your tax obligations as usual. You need to account also for the suspension period. Find out about your obligations after resumption of business activity.
Resumption of business activity and ZUS contributions
Automatically after submitting the application to CEIDG, ZUS is notified about the renewed obligation to pay social security contributions. Based on the updated entry in the CEIDG register, ZUS will register you again as the payer of social security contributions. Remember, however, that if your code of ZUS insurance title changes after your business activity is resumed (e.g. if the period of preferential contributions ends during the suspension, or if you start working under an employment contract), you will need to once again file an application for insurance to ZUS with the new code (within 7 days).
Authorizations, concessions, permits
During the suspension period the concessions and permits granted to your business may expire. This should be monitored and relevant applications for extension should be filed, if necessary.
Sign the contracts with your employees
If after resumption of business activity you wish to employ any personnel, you should sign contracts with your employees and file relevant applications to ZUS.
